Haas will feature the Multigrind five-axis grinding center, which was designed for manufacturing and sharpening gear tools such as hobs. It can also be used on the production floor for manufacturing geared shafts.
With a toolchanger, it can combine multiple machining operations into a single clamping and part cycle. Operations include grinding, milling and belting. It is said to improve part quality and reduce total throughput time and cost of complex, high-precision components.
Other optional features include onboard wheel dressing, integral part probing and pre-engineered automation. The modular design includes options for a single or split table, with X-axis travels ranging from 700 mm to 4 m.
