FlexArm broke ground on its Wapakoneta, Ohio, headquarters September 17, 2018. Festivities included the ceremonial turning over of the first shovel, a press conference with a question-and-answer session, and refreshments for dignitaries and guests. The event was attended by city and state officials, industry personnel and others.
The third-generation family-owned business manufactures high-precision tapping machines, die grinders, torque reaction arms and custom lifting solutions. The company, which was founded in 1984 by current President Nick Kennedy’s grandfather, will retain its current factory for warehousing and shipping finished products and spare parts. The 53,000-square-foot Wapakoneta facility will house R&D, engineering, customer testing and runoff, manufacturing, and administration for both the FlexArm and FlexCNC product lines.
“We really have a vibrant culture with a lot of teamwork,” Mr. Kennedy says. “Virtually everyone is empowered to make decisions that will benefit the customer.”
