Hardinge Bridgeport V1320

Hardinge has added the V1320 to Bridgeport’s V series of vertical machining centers. The machine is designed for high capacity and performance in the aerospace, automotive and energy markets. Among the machine’s features are dual Y-axis ballscrews said to promote surface quality and roundness accuracy, acceleration, reduced vibration, and increased tool life.

With a 15" Mitsubishi M80 Color LCD touchscreen, users can pinch to zoom in and out, scroll through screens, move popup windows on the screen, or drag with a single finger. The M80 also comes with two 32-GB SD card slots for memory expansion, USB program running and high-accuracy modes.

The V1320’s oversized, 45-mm double-nut ballscrews are fixed and pre-tensioned. The large, 45-mm linear guideways are supported by six trucks on the X and Z axes. The Y axis has dual 40-mm ballscrews.

The machine has a Big Plus, 40-taper, 12,000-rpm direct-drive spindle powered by a dual-wound Mitsubishi spindle motor. A quad set of 70-mm angular contact bearings and a 60-mm rear taper roller bearing provide thermal stability, radial and axial stiffness, and high accuracy as well as 900 kg tool retention force for aggressive cutting applications.
