Version 26 of BobCAD-CAM’s core CAD-CAM software for CNC milling combines existing 2D and 3D machining technology with the company’s Dynamic Machining Strategies (DMS) said to streamline CAM programming. DMS enables users to apply any amount of machining operations to a single CAD model feature, as well as on-the-fly editing of these operations, saving programming time.
The software’s operations are wizard-driven to increase efficiency while providing high-quality CAM tool paths. Job setup and machining wizards enable new users to complete jobs without steep learning curves while providing advanced control for experienced users, the company says. Customizable job setup sheets can be generated to speed the machining process. The profiling tool is equipped with new tools, and a simplified CAM tree has been added. New posting enhancements enable posting out programs by tool, feature or operation. Thread milling operations have been enhanced with support for multiple holes and customizable starting points for multi-start threading.
