The L.S. Starrett Co. introduces the Galileo EZ, a compact, manual vision system featuring live video camera feed and automatic edge detection via Metronics QC300 digital readout, high-quality optics and more. The video-based measurement solution is suitable for manufacturers of medical components; general-purpose quality inspection and manufacturing; and research and development non-contact measurement applications.
From manual, single-feature operation to complex, automated measurements, this system combines high-resolution images with a sturdy mechanical platform to deliver accuracy, the company says. This accuracy and the ability to measure small, precise parts make the system suitable for manufacturing medical components such as catheters, stents, medical tubing and more.
The system features a precision mechanical bearing with an X-Y-Z-measuring stage of 8" × 4" × 6" or 12" × 6" × 5"; a dual-output, 150-watt fiber optic illumination for the fiber-optic ring light; and a collimated sub-stage light.
