Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Integration Manager is a flexible data transformation tool for automated data acquisition and point-to-point data distribution across the enterprise. The tool provides connectivity to virtually all parts of the laboratory workflow and translates the data generated by any of the instruments, services or third-party enterprise applications.
The integration manager collects data electronically and stores it in a central database. It also translates all the individual languages of the various data sources, accepting and delivering data in the format appropriate to each intended recipient. The tool is said to save time, reduce cost and eliminate potential errors. In addition, it is built on open standards architecture that is configurable for the specific needs of each enterprise.
The tool is said to simplify workflow and allow individuals and organizations to communicate more effectively. At a higher level, enterprise connectivity allows management to make decisions based on current data and aggregated information from the entire operation, the company says.
The tool is a key component of Connects, a set of offerings that leverage the company’s breadth of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Chromatography Data Systems (CDS) capabilities. Connects assists organizations in integrating application-specific workflowsto transform laboratory data into relevant business information. This can maximize a company’s enterprise system investments to better support critical management decisions, the developer says.
