Mitsubishi Electric Automation’s M80W computer numerical controller features a Windows-based touchscreen display that is separate from the control unit for flexibility. It also incorporates the latest operating system and a slim personal computer. Two expansion slots for 32-GB SD cards enable OEMs and end users to add 64 GB of additional memory.
A CNC-dedicated CPU improves cycles times, program processing speed and machining accuracy. Other features include touchscreen operation for visibility and a smooth surface control that reduces machine vibration during high-speed cutting. A high-speed, high-accuracy mode enables complex, precise 3D mold work. User-level data protection provides multiple levels of permissions based on operator role. It also has field network compatibility with CC-Link, Profibus DP and Ethernet/IP for easy connectivity to peripheral equipment and devices.
The controller includes a 19" vertical display with a split multiple window that can be customized by arranging a keyboard, operation panel, document viewer and other applications. In addition, real-time servo and spindle tuning help to maintain machine stability by automatically adjusting the control gains.
The CNC is designed for turning centers, machining centers, lathes and mills in the automotive and machine tool industries.
