The CoroCut XS is designed to produce precision-turned components with diameters as small as 1 mm. The tool provides the accuracy and reliability needed for small part manufacturers specializing in small medical components, the company says.
The cutting system provides for productivity gains in high-volume production, the company says. The inserts are precision ground for extremely sharp edges to ensure tight tolerance in external machining operations, including grooving, threading, parting and turning operations. The system has a grooving width of 0.5 mm and a parting width of 0.7 mm.
As a flexible solution, the system’s inserts are compatible with the same toolholder for all operations. The design also allows the insert screw to be reached from either side of the toolholder to offer easy access when indexing the insert.
