Iscar’s Sumo Tec CVD-coated grade IC6025 is designed for machining stainless steel at moderate cutting speeds during stable and unstable cutting conditions. The grade covers the application range of ISO (M20-35), which is used for roughing and interrupted cutting as well as for applications at medium and low cutting speeds. The grade is composed of a cobalt-enriched outer layer substrate with MT TiCN and alpha Al2O3 coating with a special post-coating treatment.
 
The coating process features a combination of high toughness and deformation resistance. The Sumo Tec MT CVD coating adds toughness, flaking and chipping resistance while providing reliable performance, the company says.
 
The M3M chipformer has a wide chipbreaking range, making it well-suited for most stainless steel and low-carbon steel applications, the company says.
