Additions to the M1200 series of face-milling cutters and inserts from Widia are suited for applications in steels, stainless steels, high-strength steels, cast irons and nonferrous materials. The M1200HF (high feed) face-milling system features 12 cutting edges for increased speeds and feeds.

Additions to the M1200 series of face-milling cutters and inserts from Widia are suited for applications in steels, stainless steels, high-strength steels, cast irons and nonferrous materials. The M1200HF (high feed) face-milling system features 12 cutting edges for increased speeds and feeds. The high-feed face mill accepts standard M1200 HN .09 inserts and incorporates a chip-thinning effect for increased metal removal. Other features of the face-milling system include chip forming and evacuation capabilities, a high-feed load capability and accurate insert positioning, which increases tool life and provides quality surface finish, the company says.
In addition to face-milling, the company has added insert grades and geometries designed specifically for machining aluminum and nonferrous materials.
