Murata Machinery’s Fabrication Division introduces the Muratec LS3015FC fiber laser machine, whose rigid “reliability by design” construction is said to emphasize precise machining. The machine’s low-power, short-wavelength laser beam improves part processing of even highly reflective materials like copper and aluminum, the company says. Linear drives on all axes promote precise, high-speed processing. A dual-pallet system enables the preparation of new material and prevents parts and scrap from falling onto the material during the exchange.
The user-friendly FANUC 31-iLB CNC control platform stores as many as 1,000 programs on a solid-state drive that can be backed up and expanded through USB and compact flash ports. Laser processing parameters are pre-loaded on the machine and a Windows-embedded file system eases backup and data manipulation.
