Sescoi has releases version 3 of its custom manufacturing solution, which includes WorkPlan Enterprise for full enterprise resource planning (ERP) and MyWorkPlan for efficient job management. The release features advanced integration and additional capabilities.

 

Both systems are designed for openness and interoperability. According to the company, this enables users to control costs, prepare accurate quotations, bring better products to market more quickly, maximize return on investment for existing software and make the best use of company expertise.

Integration options start with the company’s own software systems, which can link to the WorkNC automatic CAM system to accurately determine machining times. Updates in the latest release allow the systems to interface with WorkXPlore 3D, the company’s high speed collaborative viewer for advanced CAD file analysis and sharing. Combined, these systems facilitate collaborative and concurrent working for shorter lead times and higher efficiency.

Links to third-party software have been extended, and both systems will offer an optional interface to advanced planning and scheduling (APS) systems, including those offered by Preactor and Ortems. This enables users to export projects for finite and infinite capacity planning and then re-import the results.

Quality control capabilities, standard in WorkPlan Enterprise and an optional module in MyWorkPlan, have been enhanced to include monitoring of scheduled maintenance and recalibration of inspection and measuring equipment.

Optional remote database access allows managers to check job status and performance of one or several sites where the software is installed. This capacity enables managers to increase efficiency and productivity, the company says.

Version 3 includes a pack of more than 60 standard reports that can be easily customized to reduce implementation time. Also, both systems offer capabilities for managing diverse types of production, including enhanced management of components, stock of finished goods and composed components that can be either purchased, taken from stock, or broken down and produced in-house.
