Ingersoll’s Hi-QuadF high-feed milling cutters are available with a 13-mm IC insert for 0.088" depth of cut or a 19-mm IC insert for 0.145" depth of cut. The inserts offer four cutting edges and a choice of eight different cutting edge geometries. The positive axial insert orientation is said to create a high-sheer, free-cutting nature. Chip thinning is leveraged to a factor of 5× when calculating feed rates. Cutter performance and insert seating stability are ensured with an insert screw design that secures the insert in the pocket.
