Iscar’s Mincut inserts and tools for face grooving and turning applications now feature an expanded diameter range, from 10 to 34 mm, and a grooving depth of 9 mm. The MIFR 10 inserts are screw-clamped into a long pocket of the MIFHR bars. The rigid clamping prolongs tool life and enables increased machining parameters.
The tool features an internal coolant hole, which is directed to the cutting edge. It can be used for grooving deep holes and in rotating applications. The tool is said to provide uninterrupted chip flow on the insert rake.
Standard inserts are available in 2- to 3-mm widths and are made from IC908 grade.
