Heidenhain offers a new interface board for its Profinet-IO to provide more options for users of conversationally friendly TNC controls. The common Profinet-IO is available in addition to the interface board for Profibus-DP.
Profinet-IO is an open industrial Ethernet standard that conforms to IEC 61158 and IEC 61784-2. Real-time communication transfers user data and alarms, while configuration and diagnosis are supported via TCP/IP or other IT protocols. Profinet-IO fieldbus devices that have been certified by the Profibus user organization and provide device files in GSDML format can be connected as consumers within the provider-consumer concept, formerly known as master-slave. The interface board is certified for Conformance Class A and must be used as a provider.
IOconfig PC software version 3.0 or higher is required to configure the bus systems that can be connected to the TNC. The software can also configure fieldbus devices from other manufacturers for Profibus-DP or Profinet-IO with the necessary device files. The Profinet interface is supported by MC 6441, MC 65xx, MC 66xx, MC 74xx and MC 75xx hardware, and is compatible with Heidenhain’s TNC 640 turn-mill control, TNC 620mill control, CNC Pilot 640lathe control and ManualPlus 620 lathe control.
