The SR 200 BB (Big Bore) high-performance multi-tasking turning center from Hardinge offers users a combination of performance features that include speed, power, accuracy and durability. This heavy-duty turning center features a Hardinge Sure-Grip lever type 250mm (10") three-jaw chuck as standard equipment. The SR 200 BB can be configured with many multi-tasking functions including, livetooling, Y-axis, C-axis and sub-spindle, needed to machine today's complex small to medium sized parts complete in a single set-up, the company says
The turning center is said to be a high-performance "chuck and bar" machine that will cut the tough materials and handle deep interrupted cuts while maintaining overall part accuracy. The machine features vibration damping that is accomplished through the use of heavyduty linear roller guides mounted to a reinforced cast-iron base. The platform allows the user to handle work virtually vibration free while reducing costs of tooling by as much as 33 percent.
SR 200 BB work capacities are: maximum swing over way covers is 22.44" (519.2mm); chuck size (standard Hardinge Sure-Grip chuck) is 10" (250mm); maximum bar capacity is 3.14" (79.7mm); maximum machining diameter is 12.15" (308.6mm); and maximum machining length with tailstock and 10" chuck is 17.2" (436.9mm).
SR 200 BB spindle specifications include a maximum speed of 4000-rpm, a maximum power rating of 30-hp (26-kW), torque at base speed (505 rpm) is 306 foot pounds (414.8Nm) and the spindle nose is A2-8
Key attributes of the Hardinge SR-Series machines include a. Hardinge/GE Fanuc i-Series SR control unit with high-speed milling capability and multi-axis functionality, Fanuc manual guide conversational programming system. hard turning and hard milling capability, Harcrete-reinforced cast-iron base for superior damping, improved tool life "hard turning" capability up to 67 HRc, exclusive Eppinger top plate option designed for high accuracy, zero clearance tool location, repeatability and robust live tooling system and a vast array of Hardinge workholding systems.
