SPI Lasers offers its Extended Performance (EP) series of 20-W pulsed fiber lasers. The series is based on SPI’s G4 redEnergy Mopa range but offers increased flexibility and performance, the company says. The lasers are said to enable faster processing and greater reliability in a small footprint.
Three different beam qualities are available, ranging from single mode to low-moded ~2 M2, so that performance can be matched to the application. The fiber laser sources feature 40 preset pulse waveforms in the 3-500 N-sec. operating range. Peak power is as high as 12 kW and pulse energy ranges to 1.0 mJ.
The series is well-suited for general marking and metallic micromachining applications, as well as plastics, thin-film patterning, drilling and cutting. It is designed for use in industries such as automotive, electronics, semi-conductor, consumer goods and general manufacturing.
