NanoSteel announces the launch of its first product for laser powder-bed fusion additive manufacturing. BLDRmetal L-40 is a case-hardening steel powder that provides hardness and ductility and prints on standard commercial equipment. This alloy is said to provide better performance than M300 maraging steel and is an alternative to difficult-to-print tool steels such as H13. It is designed for parts such as tools, dies, bearings and gears.
NanoSteel developed this alloy through rapid iterative development at CFK GmbH, a 3D printing service provider.
