The company has announced the release of the next generation of VideoGage 3D non-contact precision measuring machines. The machines use the optics in a horizontal format. The company has eliminated the weight-limiting glass stage, thus allowing for bulkier and heavier parts to be inspected. The machines are compact and self-contained, yet they offer a measuring capacity of 300 × 200 × 150 (12" × 8" × 6"), with a 0.00005" resolution.
The machines are equipped with a motorized zoom up to 12×, three variable intensity illumination sources, edge detection, image processing and the capability to set up workpieces with minimal or no fixturing. The design is said to facilitate quick loading and unloading of workpieces, conserving run time.
These machines are useful for inspecting threads, injection molded parts, sheet metal and machined parts.
