Jetcam International and Mitsubishi Electric Corp. recently signed a developer agreement for Mitsubishi’s LA-Module, with subsidiary company Mitsubishi Electric Mechatronics Software Corp. As part of this partnership, Jetcam will be developing enhanced support for Mitsubishi’s range of CNC laser machines.
Jetcam has already developed integration for Mitsubishi’s LA-Module, enabling easy selection of cutting condition files. The LA-Module, made from the company’s LA CAM software, optimizes NC data for the company’s CNC lasers and provides accurate runtime estimations. Jetcam has postprocessors that can either generate NC data and interface with the LA-Module to obtain the machining time estimation, or XML path data which interfaces with the LA-Module to generate NC data and machining time estimation. Both posts can retrieve condition file data and other machine parameter information.
“This partnership allows Jetcam users to benefit from best-in-class technology, from CAD file to cut component,” says Martin Bailey, general manager at Jetcam. “Jetcam’s total automation coupled with Mitsubishi’s renowned speed and quality allows companies to significantly reduce the time to generate NC code while ensuring the most accurate runtime estimation information for costing purposes.”
