Mazak will host its annual Discover More With Mazak event May 1-3, 2018, at its Midwest Technology Center in Schaumburg, Illinois. This interactive learning event will give attendees an opportunity to explore the company’s latest manufacturing technologies and techniques.
Attendees will experience the capabilities of 19 of the company’s milling, turning, five-axis and multitasking machines, while application engineers perform a variety of part-cutting demonstrations. These machines will include the VC-500A/5X five-axis vertical machining center with a trunnion-style rotary/tilt table and 60-tool magazine capacity.
Several machines, including the QuickTurn 250 and the QT-Primos 100 turning centers, will be paired with automation systems to demonstrate gains in versatility, flexibility and productivity. The former will feature a pre-packaged robotic loading system that enables unattended operation, while the latter system will have a gantry loader that speeds loading and unloading.
The company and its Value Inspired Partners (VIPs) will present the latest information on some of the industry’s trends, including emerging technologies that are changing the manufacturing landscape. For example, attendees will see the advantages of Mazak’s Smooth technology, a process-performance platform that incorporates the company’s Mazatrol SmoothX, SmoothG and SmoothC controls as well as automation and plant-wide connectivity. DP Technology (Esprit), LNS America, Memex and Sandvik will also conduct multiple presentations in the Technology Center on complementary technologies.
Additionally, attendees will learn how to securely enter the world of the Industrial Internet of Things with the Mazak’s SmartBox. This scalable solution connects manufacturing equipment including machines, software and other devices to a factory’s network, permitting the free flow of information to management systems via MTConnect.
Attendees can view a complete list of live demonstrations, presentation schedules and on Mazak’s website.
