Omax Engineer Receives Fellowship from American Society of Mechanical Engineers
Darren L. Stang received the fellowship award for his leadership in the area of high-pressure technology in ASME’s Pressure Vessel and Piping (PVP) Division.

Darren L. Stang, principal systems engineer at Omax Corp. (Kent, Washington), was recently elevated to Fellow from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in recognition of his outstanding engineering achievements. Thomas G. Loughlin, executive director of ASME, and Dr. Sam Y. Zamrik, past president of ASME, presented Mr. Stang with the award at the 50th annual PVP Conference honors and awards banquet July 20, 2016 in Vancouver, Canada. He joins 3,439 Fellows out of over 100,000 ASME members.
The fellowship was awarded for Mr. Stang’s leadership in, dedication to and promotion of high-pressure technology in the Pressure Vessel and Piping (PVP) Division of ASME, and through his work in the ASME Section VIII, Division 3 codes and standards committee.
Mr. Stang has over 30 years of experience in designing, manufacturing and high-pressure equipment, and serves as the subject matter expert for Omax in the areas of fatigue, fracture mechanics, damage tolerance and fatigue mitigation.
