The Summit will feature in-person and virtual participation from an estimated 1,000 manufacturing professionals from across the country during three days of keynote presentations, roundtable discussions, breakout sessions, plant tours and social events designed to expand their networks and strengthen the community of women in manufacturing at all levels. “The 2023 WiM Summit theme is ‘Explore New Horizons,’ so it’s fitting that we are bringing the event to California for the first time,” says Allison Grealis, WiM president and founder. “The Summit serves as a pivotal event that unites, empowers and inspires women in the manufacturing industry. It is our platform to address the challenges women face in this field, celebrate their accomplishments and strategize for a future where women find ever greater success in manufacturing careers.”
The conference will kick off with a keynote delivered by a team of women leaders from Boeing titled “21st Century Rosies: A Factory Fireside Chat,” followed by presentations from executives from Siemens Corporation, Clorox, and American Crane and Equipment. Numerous breakout sessions led by manufacturing industry experts also are scheduled throughout the conference. Topics cover diversity, equity and inclusion; leadership; technology/innovation; workforce development; and more.
In addition, the Summit program offers attendees the opportunity to tour innovative manufacturing plants in the San Diego area, as well as participate in networking social events and second annual Women in Manufacturing Education Foundation (WiMEF) HERizon 5K fundraiser to support the development of effective and affordable educational programs to further the advancement of women in the manufacturing workforce.
WiMEF also will host the 2023 Women in Manufacturing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Gala during the Summit, celebrating women who have made exceptional contributions to the industry and to the advancement of women during the course of their established careers.
