Norton, a Saint-Gobain brand, introduces an addition to its Gemini RightCut wheels line with an aluminum oxide (A/O) option for cutting steel and ferrous materials. The wheels are said to offer longer life and faster cuts with more stability and a narrower pass. According to the company, the wheels are 100 percent A/O abrasive with a bond technology and process that enables a thinner wheel design and low kerf loss. Strong 0.45" wheels ensure reduced material waste and quick cutting action as much as 20 percent faster than conventional wheels. They are said to provide clean, precise and straight cuts free of burrs, and require less pressure while cutting. The abrasive wheels are designed to be a cost-effective cut-off solution for portable, guarded right-angle grinders, and are suitable for metal slotting and cut-off applications on bolts and studs, angle iron, tubing and sheet metal in materials ranging from carbon to stainless steel. Type 01 (4" to 7") and Type 27 (4" to 9") wheels are available.
