CNC Series Offers Improved Functionality

Mitsubishi Electric’s multi-axis M700V CNC series is designed for metalcutting, forming, plastics and woodworking applications. The M700VS model is a standalone, compact integrated controller with a built-in display screen for HMI functions, and the M700VW model is a PC-based control operated on a Windows platform. Both models feature a high speed servo network.
The CNCs optimize machine response control to increase drive system speed and accuracy. They also offer complete nanometer control and processing, making them suitable for high-precision advanced machining. An adaptive notch filter control monitors and reduces repeated fluctuations caused by mechanical wear. According to Mitsubishi, the super-smooth surface control suppresses vibrations and maintains a desired speed. A five-axis machining control enables correct positioning of the tool center points.
The series includes improved basic CNC functions and graphics performance, including HMI screens for navigation and operation, including menu customization capabilities, pop-up screens and a guidance function. A built-in PLC is standard. The CNCs are powered by a 64-bit RISC CPU and LSI power, and the M700VS offers reduced power consumption over the predecessor CNC series, the company says.
The CNCs can be used with machining tools; vertical, horizontal and five-axis machining centers; multi-turret, multi-spindle turn mills; and multi-system Swiss-type turning centers; among others.
