MC Machinery Systems offers its entry-level 3015 SR CO2 laser system intended to combine high-quality cutting and improved productivity. The SR features the fifth generation of the Flying Optic system and construction based on its predecessor, the eX-S. Like the eX-S, this machine is designed to meet demanding manufacturing challenges with its solid dianite machine casting for high rigidity and stability. Oversized precision linear guides on both X and Y axes help maintain consistent performance over the life of the machine. The machine also features helical rack and pinion on the X and Y axes for faster, quieter operation.
The machine head accommodates 5.0" and 7.5" laser focal length and incorporates cartridge recognition. Centering at the cartridge instead of the head enables easier nozzle centering and eliminates refocusing between changes. Jet Pierce capability enables aggressive piercing of challenging materials like mild steel.
Improvements to the 2,700-W resonator and beam quality enable faster speeds in thick plate cuts, better surface finish quality on stainless steel cuts and faster gas change time than previous offerings in the class, the company says. In addition, optional Eco Mode provides energy savings.
The updated Mitsubishi touchscreen color control is said to provide an intuitive user experience with a faster graphical interface, USB compatibility and expanded programming options. The self-contained system provides 20 GB of memory.
