The company’s Form-A-Groove tooling can generate complex profiles in a single plunge. They are said to simplify programming, increase production and free tool locations for other tools. The tools consist of combinations of simple grooves or more complex combinations of grooves, arcs, angles and convex or concave radii. Tools can be composed of stacks of individual inserts or a single carbide block ranging to 2" wide. Available coatings include TiN, TiCN, TiAIN or diamond-film. Toolholders are available in 1" round and 1/2", 3/4" and 1" square for internal and external applications.
In addition, the company has expanded its selection of Groove ‘N Turn toolholders. The new toolholders are available in 3/4" and 1" square and are used for making undercuts and thread reliefs at a 30-degree/60-degree angle. The toolholders can be used on conventional, Swiss and CNC machines for grooving inserts in sizes ranging from 0.004" to 0.150". Inserts are available in three grades: D2 for steels, D5 for nonferrous and HSS. TiN, TiCN, TiAlN coatings are available as is a full selection of radius and special configurations.
