For serious problems that remain, Smart Surfacing technology from PowerShape can generate replacement surfaces in the affected area. Users can delete the existing surfaces and sketch around the area to be repaired. The software can then analyze the boundary and suggest the most appropriate type of surface to fill the space. Once the surfaces are repaired, they are automatically incorporated back into the model. This process continues until all the inconsistencies have been resolved and a model is created that is suitable for machining.
