Eriez HydroFlow’s deep-bed gravity filter offers long lead-in and flow-out of disposable media to eliminate dirty coolant by-pass around media. According to the company, the filter’s side seal, travel of the media and liquid depth assist liquid permeation through the media, trapping fine solid debris. Wide sealing edges with a heavy-duty chain secure the side seals. A deep bed helps to force liquid through media, and heavy hot-rolled steel bar flights with flat edges maintain the media seal and ensure proper tracking and advancement. The filters are said to achieve an average clarity level of 20 to 30 microns with flows ranging to 90 gpm and are well-suited for CNC grinding applications.
The HydroFlow’s heavy-duty construction prevents bed flexing, weld cracking or structural failures. The gasket and bolted clean-out port are positioned at the side of the clean tank, easing maintenance. The filter’s electrical controls with relays, push buttons and press-to-test pilot lights simplify startup of the pumps and conveyor, and provide a constant visual of coolant tank levels, pump pressures and coolant temperature. Heavy-duty chain and deep-bed mechanical conveyors ensure maximum conveyor up-time for the continuous removal of swarf and solids contaminant, Eriez says. Optional accessories include a magnetic coolant cleaner, cartridge filters, recirculation pumps and drop-in-style coil chillers.
