LMT Onsrud says its solid carbide drills can drill difficult composite materials without delamination. A parabolic chip groove geometry provides efficient chip removal and prevents splintering, laceration and material flaking, while a large-diameter drill web adds stability, the company says. For wear protection and low friction, the drills feature a nano-crystalline diamond coating. According to the company, the drills’ quality and productivity make them a viable alternative to PCD tips. They are available in standard versions or customized versions to meet individual user requirements.
