Available from Absolute Machine Tools, the Accutex AL56SA wire EDM features a high-speed linear shaft motor designed for precise linear and circular interpolation. According to the distributor, the linear shaft technology avoids backlash, reduces lost motion, minimizes heat transfer and eliminates guideway friction and wear for maintenance-free operation. With X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measuring 22" × 14" × 12", the EDM can accommodate a workpieces as large as 38" × 22" × 11.5" and weighing as much as 1,100 lbs. The machine is equipped with Accutex’s AWT automatic wire threader said to provide effective threading at the break point. The Accutex 64-bit Windows CE control enables fast servo and spark control.
