The FA30V Advance wire EDM from MC Machinery Systems accommodates tall workpieces for large-part manufacturers. The wire EDM features an inserted AT design, 16.5" of Z-axis travel and 26.5" maximum Z height.
 
The machine incorporates the CNC M700 series control with a 15" touchscreen monitor to optimize programming functions. SL (step less) control improves accuracy when finishing stepped-shaped workpieces, the company says. Power Master (PM) control enables full automation from rough to finish machining and eases machining of multiple parts with varying thicknesses and shapes.
 
The high speed V500 power supply enables machining at 47 sq. in. per hour, which is said to improve machining performance for difficult-to-cut materials such as titanium alloy or heat-resistant, high-nickel alloys.
 
High speed automatic wire threading (AT) combines a high-performance, load-detection sensor and quick retry function for unattended operation and increased productivity.
 

Other wire EDM features include a stainless steel work tank and virtually maintenance-free stainless steel seal plate.
