Kays Engineering’s Eldorado gundrilling machines feature an updated operator control panel. Using a PC-based system with Beckoff controls, both the hardware and software have been improved for machine operators. For shops with older Eldorado machines, the new control is available as a retrofit package.
The touchscreen display screen is 7" wide and allows for larger graphics and easier-to-read menus. Large push buttons have replaced the keypad, making the control panel more durable and easier to use in a shopfloor setting.
The control includes G-code programming capabilities, allowing users to write their own gundrilling programs. This is intended to improve machine flexibility with options like variable feeds and speeds, pecking cycles, dwell times and other basic G-code capabilities.
