The Quantum NXT electro servo pump (ESP) from Techni Waterjet incorporates core direct servo technology that replaces hydraulic cylinders with servo-linear actuators. The servomotor directly envelops a high-load precision ballscrew. The ballscrew houses ceramic plungers that reciprocate back and forth to create a pumping action. The output pressure and volume of water displaced can be controlled with the servomotor, enabling the machine to cut a range of materials including stainless steel, aluminum, glass, stone, rubber and titanium.
A color touchscreen HMI provides onboard diagnostics to help determine common fault conditions and identify the fault location. The software diagnostic screen displays analysis of the pump performance with an in-time graphical representation of the relationship between pressure, flow rate, maintenance and cutting speeds.
The pump is available in four models: ESP-55, ESP-55 dual, ESP-66 and ESP-66 dual. The maximum output volume is 1 gpm (3.8 L/min.) in the ESP-55, 2 gpm (7.6 L/min.) in the ESP-55 dual, 0.8 gpm (3.0 L/min.) in the ESP-66 and 1.6 gpm (6.0 L/min.) in the ESP-66 dual. The ESP-55 and ESP-55 dual offer a maximum output pressure of 55,000 psi, while the ESP-66 and the ESP-66 dual provide a maximum output pressure of 66,000 psi.
The single-pump models measure 63" × 23" × 43" (1.6 × 0.6 × 1.1 m) and weigh 1,160 lbs (525 kg). The cooling water requirement is 1.2 gpm (5 L/min.) at 68°F (20°C). Power requirements are 3 PH 380-480 VAC, 50 to 60 Hz and 60 amp. The dual-pump models measure 67" × 35" × 39" (1.7 × 0.9 × 1.0 m) and weigh 2,240 lbs (1,020 kg). The cooling water requirement is 2 gpm (7.5 L/min.) at 68°F (20°C). Power requirements are 3 PH 380-480 VAC, 50 to 60 Hz and 80 amp.
