Kaiser Tool has expanded its Thinbit Groove ‘N Turn line with the addition of Acme threading inserts designed to cut threads ranging from 4 to 16 threads per inch on conventional, Swiss-type and CNC lathes. The tools have geometry to cut standard 29-degree Acme thread profiles and can be used to cut centralizing or stub profiles by overcutting. The inserts can be used for internal Acme threads on parts with bore diameters of 1.250" and larger.
The range is available in sub-micron-grain carbide grades for ferrous and nonferrous materials, either uncoated or with TiN, TiCN, TiAIN or diamond film coatings. Toolholders are available in square shank sizes ranging from 5/16" to 1 ¼" and round shank sizes ranging from ½" to 1" with straight and 90-degree presentations. The inserts can fit in existing L-series Thinbit holders.
