Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence announced the expansion of its high-throughput and high-accuracy HTA Measurement solution for airplane engine and powertrain applications. The new technology packages deliver reduced measurement cycles and rich data sets for manufacturers looking to integrate dimensional inspection more effectively into their production processes, the company says. Based on HP-O optical interferometric sensor technology, these products provide fast, accurate, non-contact scanning and dramatic time reductions when measuring complex parts such as blisks, gears, camshafts, splines, synchro rings and clutch baskets. The sensor range includes six configurations for the right combination of inspection methods and part accessibility for the intended application.
The expanded offering follows the release of the Global Advantage HTA platform for airplane engine blade measurement. This inspection application utilizes the HP-O Multi-Sensor to accurately verify blade characteristics including airfoil, platform, root, shroud and other features. They include a range sensor and a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) with rotary table for four-axis scanning, as well as the advanced Quindos metrology software. The combination of high-speed scanning and rapid data delivery help meet the demanding productivity goals of manufacturers in automotive, aerospace and other industries.
