The fifth generation of Verisurf X software features model-based GD&T inspection technology. The computer-aided inspection and reverse engineering software inspects parts quickly and accurately, without 2D drawings, the company says. This is said to reduce time, costs and inconsistencies. GD&T data can be imported or created on virtually any 3D CAD/CAM model; inspected manually or as part of an automated inspection process; and reported in a variety of industry formats.
 
3D Feature Scan technology automates collection of discreet inspection points on 3D CAD models. This provides the flexibility of non-contact 3D scanning without the time-consuming processing and other issues associated with massive point clouds, the company says.
 
The Database Write feature formats and writes inspection information to SPC applications and PLM databases. The feature also supports Microsoft Access and SQL Server database formats for integrating inspection data with various enterprise databases.
 
Enhanced Auto Inspection Planning automatically calculates composite positional tolerances to eliminate Excel spreadsheet calculations and plotting by quality assurance personnel. It also has a deviation display column that continuously displays all measured deviations.
 
The updated Measure module features assembly guidance arrows with a resizable digital readout panel. The module is designed to help users take more accurate measurements in the exact order and location needed.
