Leaders-In background

The Interactive Editor within Fagor’s conversational programming system leads the user through entering necessary variables to complete shopfloor programming operations. Once within the “edit” mode, the user selects the “interactive” softkey to access the editor. The editor’s instructions and graphic assist screen walk the user through the appropriate variables for the operation. When finished, the user presses the “enter” key and the created cycle is automatically inserted into the G-code part program. Tasks such as machining canned cycles, probing cycles and contouring choices can be programmed through the editor. In addition, all Fagor Interactive cycles can be accessed directly from the program by keying in the cycle G code and pressing the “help” key. The user can also key in the letter “G” and press the “help” key to access a list of all G codes to find the appropriate operation for the application.

Fagor also offers an onboard mini CAD/CAM system called the “profile editor” that enables fast, easy creation of simple profiles. Upon creation, the automatically generated contour G code is inserted directly into the program. In addition, all Fagor controls are equipped with a “teach-in” mode that eases program creation through successful manual and MDI machining. A simulation mode with HD solid graphics enables part zoom and multi-angle views for program verification. Fagor CNCs feature Ethernet capability, RS 232 serial port and USB for downloading the program to the control.
