AutoCrib offers IntelliPort Lite, a radio frequency identification (RFID) portal meant for smaller crib environments than its traditional IntelliPort product. The system is designed to save time and money while accurately recording movement of inventory. It is intended for manufacturers, fabricators, machine shops, airlines, distributors and others who need a RFID portal with a smaller footprint.  

The portal device is placed at a gateway point to securely track the movement of products in and out of a controlled area at all times. Multiple authorized users can enter the locked gates with their employee badges or numbers and “shop” simultaneously to maintain productivity. A checkout system automatically scans RFID tags on items, issues a receipt and unlocks the door for exit. All data is stored in the system for tracking and reporting. IntelliPort Lite also includes a returns process that senses and tracks items being returned and unlocks the doors once the scanners confirm no items are in hand. Because items are tracked through RFID tags and sensors, there is less dependency on proper bin location inside the crib, the company says.

IntelliPort Lite is available in single- or double-door versions. According to the company, the system supports multiple languages and is well-suited for high-volume environments. Data captured can be used to track supply, set inventory alerts and send email reports to any smartphone, tablet or computer. The portal can be used with AutoCrib’s other automated inventory vending devices or as a standalone system.
