Dillon Jaw Forming Rings, or Jaw Boring Rings, provide uniform pressure on jaws for a consistent bore on large diameter chucks. They are designed to allow soft, round and full-grip jaws to be precisely machined for a firmer grip of the workpiece.
The rings are available in diameter-specific or adjustable models to bore a range of chuck diameters. Both models are available in diameters ranging from 6-18 in. Both styles feature no-tools attachment.
Use of this device provides a jaw surface true to the machine centerline, reduces setup times and increases uptimes for running machined parts, according to the company. The rings are self-centering and attach to the front of jaws without tools for simple installation. They compensate for “jaw lift” even in worn chucks, which the company says leads to better part concentricity.
Dillon Manufacturing Inc. manufactures a complete line of standard and custom workholding solutions including chuck jaws, chucks, vise jaws, soft jaws, hard jaws, collet pad jaw systems, chuck lubrication. Dillon is ISO 9001:2015 registered.
