Milltronics’VM3224 linear way VMC features a 38" × 24" worktable and and 32" × 24" × 26" travels. The enclosure features removable side doors for accessibility through the full-saddle travel to accommodate long parts. The VMC is equipped with Milltronics’ 8200 CNC control, linear roller ways and a dual-arm 24-pocket toolchanger. The machine features six-spigot flood coolant and a 180-gallon coolant capacity. A single, integrated auger is designed to improve chip and coolant control. The VMC is available factory-ready for 1,000-psi, through-spindle coolant and fourth-axis interface.
To increase machining accuracy, 38-mm ballscrews are stretched and anchored with triplex bearings on each end. According to the company, the ballscrews enable the axis to run faster and smoother while minimizing thermal expansion. The standard 18/12-hp Big Plus in-line or belted 10,000-rpm spindle improves cutting performance and material removal. The machine features a cutting feed rate of 500 ipm (12.5 m/min.) and rapid feed rate of 1,600 ipm (40 m/min.). Options include a 15,000-rpm spindle, enclosure washdown, mist collections system, probes and toolsetters.
