The latest addition to SGS Tool Company鈥檚 Z-Carb family of end mills, the Z-Carb-MD, is designed to produce a smooth, chatter-free surface finish at high metal removal rates. Suited for machining steels as hard as 62 HRc, the cutter features an unequal helix design to reduce chatter. Its core and negative rake enhance edge strength, reduce deflection and allow higher feeds, the company says. The end mill comes standard with the company鈥檚 Ti-Namite-A (AlTiN) coating and is available with extended reach, reduced neck diameters and Weldon flats.
