Mate Precision To Launch 52/96 Workholding Solutions in 2021
Mate Precision Technologies plans to launch a new line of 52/96 modular workholding technologies in January 2021 for three-, four- and five-axis machining centers.

Mate Precision Technologies will launch a new line of 52/96 workholding technology in January 2021 for CNC machining operations with three-, four- and five-axis machining centers. This new line of vises, bases and mounting systems maximizes holding power in a compact, quick-change modular design that reduces setup time and process variability.
“We are very pleased to introduce a new era of workholding,” says Mate chairman and CEO Dean Sundquist. “As a precision technology company, Mate has used many types of workholding. We were never completely satisfied with the workholding available on the market. Our machinists knew exactly what they wanted, so we decided to develop a new high-quality, high-performance workholding system.”
Mate plans to offer three series of workholding tools. Mate DynoGrip self-centering vises will feature maximum holding power in a compact system with minimal part movement and zero-point quality engagement with a four-post pull stud pattern. The Mate DynoLock quick change bases provide zero-point quality engagement with a four-post stud pattern and center accuracy and repeatability. Lastly, the Mate DynoMount system includes tombstones, pyramids, risers and dual right-angle mounts that feature zero-point quality engagement for four-point stud patterns.
Mate’s 52/96 workholding system includes QuickSpecs, the company’s unique product identification system. QuickSpecs offers real-time access to critical user data and CAD models, with potential integration into business systems. Additionally, the product supports factory automation through common robotic interfaces and palletizing systems.
The workholding announcement comes shortly after Mate changed its corporate name to Mate Precision Technologies to reflect its broader commitment to metalworking and driving innovations for the future of factory productivity. “It supports our mission statement,” Sundquist comments, “which focuses on improving our customers’ factory productivity, and we are now better positioned to extend our skills and technologies to other markets like the metal cutting and machining industries.”
