Distributed by ERI-America, Micron milling chucks by Showa Tool are said to guarantee tolerances as tight as 1µm at the chuck nose and 2µm at 3×D. The design generates twice the clamping force of hydraulic chucks with rigidity to produce quality surface finishes and dimensional accuracy. The chucks are suited for milling, reaming, thread milling and precision drilling. They are available in capacities measuring 0.750", 1.00", 1.250" and 2.00". Standard and through-the-flange coolant chucks are available in inch and metric sizes.
The company also offers Micron mold chucks, which provide accuracy, 3-µm at the chuck nose and 5-µm at 3×D. They feature an extended nose design that enables deep milling and drilling in hard-to-reach mold and die block cavities. The mold chucks provide rigidity and concentricity equal to a shrink-fit toolholder without the cost of induction equipment, the company says. Standard and through-the-flange coolant styles are available in lengths of 150 and 200 mm with inch and metric sizes ranging from 0.125" to 0.500" (3 to 12 mm).
The company offers both chucks in CV40/50, BT40, HSK63A, HSK100A and Big Plus configurations.
