Iscar’s expanded Helido 845-13 mill family includes extra-fine-pitch cutters ranging from 2" to 5" in diameter and coarse-pitch models with coolant ports serving every pocket. HP and PL inserts are designed to better handle austenitic cast iron, high-temperature alloys and stainless steels, and a wiper insert improves finish using fine-pitch cutters with 5" and larger diameters.
The line of milling tools features double-sided inserts with 16 or 18 edges, depending on size. The positive-rake inserts are designed to reduce machining forces. They also featurehelical cutting edges for more gentle entry and exit. A Sumo-Tec post-coating treatment is said to improve performance in applications from hogging out dies and molds to machining turbo-machinery parts.
