Bluco will display its line of modular fixturing system at Fabtech 2015 in booth 11025, presenting demonstrations of the fixtures in both welding and machining applications. For welding, the system is good for fixturing low-volume, high-mix work, and the company says that the introduction of the rollover positioner and workstation bases extends its usefulness to other manufacturing operations.
The rollover positioner (pictured) provides the ability to rotate parts 360 degrees and still handle a variety of configurations using standard locating and clamping components. Standard models support parts as long as 10 ft. and as wide as 40”. Options include extensions for wider parts and a built-in rotary ground connector.
The system’s workstation bases are said to bring the full functionality of modular fixturing to small weld cells. With footprints as small as 32” × 48”, these workstations are suitable for TIG or general small-part welding. They can also be used for grinding, clamping, cutting, assembly or any other workbench-type activity. Available in standard and mobile versions, workstations can be configured to meet specific application needs.
