Renishaw's Resolute single-track, fine-pitch optical absolute encoder is capable of 32-bit resolution at 36,000 rpm in rotary (angle) configuration. In linear format, the encoder can achieve a resolution of 1 nm at speeds of 100 m/sec. and lengths greater than 10 m.
The Resolute absolute optical encoder is compatible with the Siemens Drive-Cliq interface, a communications interface for connecting the encoder to Sinumerik and Sinamics drive components. When equipped with the Drive-Cliq interface, the encoder is well-suited for use in high-performance robotics and DDR torque motors requiring high precision and motion control integrity. A dual-head summing variant prevents axis eccentricity and bearing wander in rotary applications.
