Designed to simplify storing controller applications without a PC, the portable program device enables users to upload and download controller configuration and logic to or from any USB memory stick. Available from GE Fanuc, the device connects directly to the controller’s communication port and can be panel-mounted or handheld. After downloading programs onto the memory stick, users can e-mail the data to programmers. The company says the device is an alternative to sending hardware via the mail, working through problems on the phone or bringing in technicians to fix issues.Â
