Makino’s iQ300 precision micromachining center uses 0.005 micron scale feedback for increased sub-micron accuracy. The machine features a thermally stable high-speed spindle capable of fine-detail machining and high-precision accuracy. A 45,000-rpm HSK-E32 spindle equipped with the company’s core-cooling, under-race and jacket spindle temperature control system is said to prevent thermal growth, deflection and vibration.
The worktable measures 600 × 400 mm (23.6" × 15.7") with X-, Y- and Z-axis travels of 400 × 350 × 200 mm (15.7" × 13.8" × 7.9"), respectively. The machining center features Makino’s hybrid automatic tool length measurement system (ATLM), and a 40-tool magazine accommodates a variety of tooling. The Makino Professional 5 control is equipped with Super Geometric Intelligence (SGI.4) software for high-feed-rate, tight-tolerance machining of complex 3D-contoured shapes.
