Dapra’s Rhino Carb toroid insert line features a traditional, button insert geometry with a strong cutting edge that makes it suited for applications such as mold cavity and core roughing, roughing of complex part contours and helical interpolation of large-diameter holes. The round inserts are said to be useful for pocketing, semi-finishing and face milling.
The inserts are available in 3/8", ½", 5/8" and ¾" IC, with either a T-land or dished-face edge. T-land inserts offer a reinforced cutting edge for steels, irons and hard milling, while the dished-faced inserts provide a high-positive cutting edge for stainless steels, high temperature alloys and gummy materials.
Designed for aggressive metalcutting and long tool life, the insert line offers enhanced strength and heat absorption capabilities. The positive top rake reduces cutting forces and torque, and the strong cutting edge accommodates heavier chiploads and provides shock absorption.
The inserts are available in round/button, high-feed, square and octagonal geometries, in a variety of grades and coatings.
